Law enforcement officials in Pennsylvania have reported that they have arrested a man that makes his living by coaching children. The man, who is a wrestling coach in the state, is now facing child pornography charges. Police have stated that they had been given a tip at some point late last year about the alleged crime.
The man has been filling two coaching positions within the state. He has worked as an assistant coach in a high school wrestling program and also has served as a regional coach for a youth league. His second position does have various locations within Pennsylvania for practices for the regional wrestling team members.
Authorities claim to have found dozens of images on the man's computers. The man, who is 50 years of age, has been arrested and accused of both possession and distribution of illegal images. Neither of the man's reported employers has made any public statements concerning these criminal allegations.
This man, who has held a position of trust in the eyes of parents, has been accused of a serious crime. Child pornography charges usually carry severe penalties including the possibility of prison time along with the chance that he may never be allowed to work with children in the future. However, the fact that he has been accused does not mean that he will be convicted, and he remains innocent in the eyes of the law unless -- and until -- that occurs. Pennsylvania laws will provide this accused coach with the ability to ensure his rights are safeguarded as he defends himself against these charges. This man could require additional information and skilled professionals that could possibly help him decide on the best course of action in dealing with the serious circumstances that he now finds himself to be facing.
