Three Pittsburgh men were allegedly involved in a recent shooting, and the mother of two of these men now faces a charge of tampering with evidence. The incident occurred in the early hours of a Sunday morning and resulted in one man suffering injury when a bullet became lodged in his vertebra. One of the accused was arrested on gun charges, but all three men face a number of criminal counts following the incident.
According to reports, the incident occurred when seven men in a Pontiac were approached by the three accused men, who were screaming at them. One of the accused allegedly hid his face behind a t-shirt and was brandishing a gun. He handed off the gun to one of the other accused men, who fired it several times into the Pontiac. One man in the car was struck, and he was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Police detained the three men after they were identified by one of the victims. Several hours later, they attempted to search the home of two of the accused, who are twin brothers. They were denied access and forced their way into the home, where they found the twins' mother trying to burn the handle of the gun over the stove. A bulletproof vest was found in the basement.
All three men face different criminal counts that include gun charges, attempted homicide, assault and criminal conspiracy. Additionally, the twins already have rap sheets, which may affect the outcome of this case. As they prepare their criminal defense, their attorneys may want to take a close look at the police search that was performed after the shooting. They'll also want to ensure that the rights of these men are upheld in the Pittsburgh courtroom at all times during their hearings. A thorough defense strategy offers the best chance to fight these charges and obtain the most favorable outcome possible.
