Federal drug case involves alleged heroin crimes

A situation recently developed in another state that resulted in many arrests. Some officials have commented that the federal drug case has brought down a major heroin ring in the area. Similar incidents in Pennsylvania in the past have prompted defendants to seek aggressive defense assistance before they faced their charges in court.

Seven different people were arrested in conjunction with the recent drug investigation. Authorities say there is an eighth person involved. They expect him to turn himself in before long.

A police chief said he believes this major drug bust will greatly impact the heroin epidemic so prevalent in the area. Electronic monitoring and undercover purchases were used in this particular investigation that remained active for months. Reportedly, law enforcement agents searched more than 10 locations during their official pursuit, one of which was in Pennsylvania.

Among items seized by authorities in the federal drug case were various guns, heroin and cash. They also reported that at least 10 to 15 bricks of heroin were found inside a safe. A district attorney claimed that three customers of the alleged drug traffickers died of overdose during the investigation. Thus far, none of the seven defendants has been charged with murder, although each will be arraigned on federal drug trafficking charges in the near future. Mere accusations are not enough to send someone in Pennsylvania or anywhere else to prison-- every defendant is presumed innocent unless proved otherwise in court; therefore, acting alongside aggressive and experienced defense support often leads to a more positive outcome.
