STEPHEN MISKO: In the age of computers, another offense which is being investigated primarily by the federal authorities and by some state authorities are internet crimes. Internet crimes can range from identity theft, theft of services, to pornography.
In internet pornography cases, the most common question is, what did I do wrong? Did I violate any federal statute or state statute and what's the punishment? It's extremely important to invoke your Fifth Amendment right not to incriminate yourself, to seek counsel. Because if you make an incriminating statement, that could be the difference between possessing and receiving. What's the difference? Mandatory five years for receiving. No mandatory for possessing.
If you've been indicted or under investigation for an internet crime, you need to contact me as soon as possible to discuss what those allegations are.
